Free Photoshop

The nice people at Adobe have released a free online version of Photoshop. It's a big Flash application that allows photos to be retouched and edited online.
Adobe PhotoShop Express
As an example I took a photo from Harewood House from my iPhoto library and edited out the human figure using the "Touchup" feature. See the before and after photos below:

Alan Smith - Goal Machine

Alan Smith - Goal Machine
Alan Smith has issued a war cry to gee up his team mates. His colleagues should be quick to point out that he hasn't scored a Premiership goal since 19952005. His goals-scored total for last season was zero, a figure he has yet to beat. In 29 appearances for Newcastle, he has yet to find the target.

I am thinking of offering my services to Newcastle as a striker. I am going to guarantee that I can match or better Alan Smith's goal scoring rate, for only half the wages that he is asking. I can proudly say that I have scored as many goals for Newcastle as Alan Smith has, despite having played fewer games. Full stats here.

Duffy

Stephen Duffy, the perennially under-achieving singer-songwriter, has recorded thirteen albums and countless singles under the names
  • Stephen 'Tin Tin' Duffy
  • The Lilac Time
  • Stephen Duffy and the Lilac Time
  • Duffy
  • MeMeMe
  • The Devils
He's never really bothered the charts too much, apart from "Kiss me" in the early 80s, and has always studiously under-promoted his material. I've followed Mr Duffy's works since the first Lilac Time album in 1987.

So imagine my suprise when I find that the moniker "Duffy" has been hi-jacked by a Welsh songstress whose album "Rockferry" and single "Mercy" are topping the bleeding hit parade. Surely pop stars should be forced to make sure that their band names differ from each other, otherwise what's from preventing me setting up business as "Kylie" or "Morrissey"? I can feel a letter to my M.P coming on.
