Gran Theft Auto

Today, sees the release of Grand Theft Auto 4 and it is set to become the best selling computer game ever, or something. All over the country, young men (mainly) will be staring open-mouthed into their TV screens as they pretend to be an American gangster. All healthy vicarious fun, but not my particularly brand of floating boat.

I was surprised to learn that the GTA series was created in Britain. I doesn't have much of a British ring to it so I am proposing "Gran Theft Auto" which sees a nice young man called Colin driving sensibly around the streets of England in a Rover 400 searching for his missing Grandma. He is able to visit tea shops for a "nice sit down" and catch up with the latest goings on in the Peoples Friend. Our hero will wear driving gloves and sensible hat and always have a picnic blanket to hand to throw over his knees to keep the draft out. Extra points will be available for queuing in Post Offices and pottering around the house.

Renee Zellweger survey: Yes or no?

renee zellweger
I was curious as to the popularity, or otherwise, of Hollywood celebrity Renee Zellwegger. A survey was sent to 12 strapping male respondents with the message:

Renee Zellweger survey: Yes or no?

I predicted a 100% "no" response, but was surprised to find the following:

Yes: 50%
No:50%

Most of the positive responses were genuinely enthusiastic.
